About This Site
Why does this site exist?
This website exists because, as a consumer, I experienced what I believe to be unfair treatment by Avant2Go (Avant car d.o.o.), a car rental company based in Ljubljana, Slovenia. When I tried to resolve these issues through the company's own channels, I felt my concerns were not properly addressed, and my account was later terminated.
I created this site to provide a documented, chronological account of what happened — so that other consumers can make informed decisions and know what to expect.
Who am I?
I am a private individual and former Avant2Go customer. I am not a competitor, not affiliated with any rival company, and have no commercial interest in this site. My only motivation is consumer transparency.
What is documented here?
- Pricing dispute — for this booking, the app displayed 600 km per 24 hours, but the company later applied a 200 km/day limit and sought a €58.75 extra mileage charge, which it later acknowledged was incorrect due to a "technical fault." My account was terminated on the next working day after I disputed this, despite more than four years as a customer
- Loss of use — in my account, a vehicle was unusable for approximately 41 hours of a 3-day rental after I was told at collection that there was a software issue already known to the company; a company representative later travelled from Ljubljana to Vienna to restore access and, according to my account, said the vehicle should not have been released without a physical key. The company later disputed parts of my account
- Disputed charge — a €70 cleaning fee supported by photographs that, in my view, did not reliably demonstrate the alleged condition and appeared capable of being reproduced on clean upholstery under flash photography
- Account termination — my account was terminated on the next working day following my escalation of these disputes
- Formal complaints and requests sent to Slovenian authorities and public bodies
- Any future legal or regulatory proceedings, if and when they arise
My right to publish
This site is published in good faith in the exercise of freedom of expression and for consumer-information purposes, protected under:
- Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights — freedom of expression
- Slovenian Constitution, Article 39 — freedom of expression and the right to communicate information
This site contains my opinions, commentary, and account of disputed events based on documents in my possession and public records. Where facts are disputed by the company, I say so. Nothing on this site is intended to imply criminality, fraud, or dishonesty beyond what the cited documents and records support.
